タイトル：EMI Share Teacher Meet and Greet for 2023
英語で授業をする教員のためのEMI-Share オリエンテーション

内 容：
The aims of the session were as follows.
• To welcome any new teachers to our community
• Networking of teachers teaching in English
• To introduce participants to EMI Share activities for 2023
• To share resources and ideas which could be helpful for teachers
As the main presenter, I began the session by welcoming the participants, and explaining what we meant by EMI and EMI share. Kawanishi Sensei then gave a quick history of EMI Share and lunchtime gatherings over the years.Participants then introduced themselves in groups of 4 or 5, and briefly explained their teaching context.
The next part of the session was on research on EMI. I drew attention to some useful texts and websites in terms of research in the field.
I then gave an overview of current common EMI research topics and controversies, before the participants shared which research areas they were interested in groups.
Finally, I showed the participants some resources which might be useful in terms of EMI pedagogy, e.g. academic associations, courses, and online resources.
Overall, the session could be said to be successful in that the participants (14, including the two presenters) interacted very actively with each other, even before the session officially began. There were one or two new faces, and an interesting mix of content specialists and language teachers.

このセッションの目的は、イベントに初めて参加した先生方を歓迎すること、2023 年のEMIシェア活動を参加者に紹介すること、英語で教える先生たちのネットワークを作ること、授業実施に役に立つ資料やアイデアを共有することだった。
はじめに、マッケンジー先生から、EMI とEMI-Share の意味について説明した後、川西先生からこれまでのEMI-Share の活動について紹介があった。その後、参加者は4、5 人のグループに分かれ、自己紹介を行い、自分が行っている授業について共有を行った。
続いて、マッケンジー先生から、EMI に関する研究についての説明が行われた。有用な文献ややウェブサイト等に加え、最近の研究内容と争点の概要も併せて紹介したうえで、参加者同士でどの研究分野に興味があるかを共有しあった。
最後に、EMI 教育法に関する資料が参加者に共有され、今後授業を実施するうえで役立つ情報が共有された。
セッションが始まる前から参加者が非常に活発に交流していたこと、いままでEMI 主催のイベントに参加したことがない教員の参加があったこと、各分野の専門家の教員と語学を専門とする教員が集まり授業に関する意見交換を行うことができたことを考慮すると、このセッションは成功したということができる。
