概要

This FD session invites you to exploring the role of generative AI tools in the classroom and beyond. Prof. Kono’s presentation covered the following topics: AI detection tools (in particular, Turnitin), rethinking course policies, syllabus and curriculum responding to the increased use of generative AI, and incorporating AI literacy in our course material. In the discussion that followed, several topics were covered including preventive strategies, approaches to effectively incorporate AI into pedagogy, method of tracking student progress throughout the semester, using spoken evaluations for assessment, and suggested readings to foster that can be used for students to think about generative AI’s impact on society. The session concluded with a consensus on the need for a faculty-wide policy on generative AI use in the classroom.
